The 2016 Alto Moncayo matured in brand new oak barrels for 20 months and hits the scale at 16% alcohol. The high alcohol seems to extract more aromas, flavors and tannins from the new wood, and the wine is very oaky and reveals abundant dusty tannins with a warm finish. 54,600 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2018.
