2020 Dom. de Trevallon Blanc Alpilles IGP 750 ml

Availability: In stock (1)

Made from 44% Marsanne, 32% Roussanne, 16% Chardonnay and 8% Grenache Blanc, coming from Provence's Trevallon Valley at the base of the rocky walls of the Alpilles mountain range by the Durrbach family. Long before it was the trend it is today, the Durrbachs embraced organic farming and they take a minimalist approach in the cellars, where they only work with native yeasts.

The fact that the vines are grown on north-facing slopes gives incredible freshness and imparts a minerality and elegance to the Marsanne grape comparable with that found in a Hermitage white. The Roussanne is typically acidic and develops aromas of verbena, citronnella and honeysuckle. Eloi likens the addition of Chardonnay to adding salt and pepper to a dish.

The most recent vintage to be reviewed was 2018, which received 90 points from Vinous Media, which said the wine offered "the essence of apricot, mint, dried flowers and chamomille" to produce a wine "with notable complexity and character."
