Mezcal Vago offers a series of unique artisanal mezcals - each of the bottles details all the information about who made it, what pueblo, what agave, details in the process, size of batch and more. Each of their mezcals is joven (young) and clear.
The Vago Elote is produced by Aquilino Garcia Lopez, the father-in-law of Mezcal Vago’s co-founder, Judah Kuper. This family connection and his exquisite mezcal were the inspiration to form Mezcal Vago -Aquilino had never produced commercially before working with Mezcal Vago and produces exclusively for Mezcal Vago.
This mezcal has a nose full of smoky toasted corn and dry river stones. The body is sweet with wood tones and layers of honeycomb, green tropical fruit, and smoke. It has a prolonged finish loaded with mint and papaya. This is a triple distilled Mezcal. Between the second and third distillations, Aquilino Garcia Lopez adds roasted corn from his farm. The roasted corn taste shines through to the finish. This Mezcal still has hints of the Vago Espadin’s tough exterior, but its revealing with a softer aftertaste that rounds the edges off the Espadin.
