Pierde Almas produces small- batch mezcal in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca from 100% naturally fermented agave. It has been chosen by the Mexican State Department to be served at state dinners. With their Wild Agave Reforestation Program, they are actively engaged in the re-forestation of wild species of Agave in those areas where their populations have been depleted.
The Espadin is made by maestro mezcalero Gregorio Velasco Luis is San Luis del Rio. Each bottling contains a slightly different ABV, but they all hover around 49%. Its flavor notes include a bit of smoke, pepper, and hints of chocolate with a long savory finish that holds strong in the mouth.
