Pierde Almas produces small- batch mezcal in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca from 100% naturally fermented agave. It has been chosen by the Mexican State Department to be served at state dinners. With their Wild Agave Reforestation Program, they are actively engaged in the re-forestation of wild species of Agave in those areas where their populations have been depleted.
The Tobasiche is made with the wild maguey Tobaziche, which is a member of the agave Karwinskii family. This Mezcal is made by maestro mezcalero Agapito Henandez in San Baltazar. Strong tones of the fresh agave plant mix with a cedar, woody aroma that makes this a very charming Mezcal. The taste is sweet and long lasting, with a hint of wet clay.
