This is 100% pure Carignan and exudes a brooding, muted fragrance. The attack is intense: powerful and earthy, streaming in with much more than just fruit. Salt-dried black olives, cool steel and slate as well as cherries and blackberries emerge and shift, while a firm grip and a slight chalkiness lend tension and intrigue. Resonant. The 2018 vintage of the A Priori includes grapes from 100-year-old vines, fruit that Forer plans to use for an extremely limited bottling called “Centurian.”
