Founded by Steve Matthiasson and his wife in 2007, Antonio Galloni had this to say about the winery: “Steve Matthiasson is one of the top viticulturists in Napa Valley. Matthiasson and his wife, Jill Klein, also make a small amount of wine under their own label. Matthiasson prefers to pick early and his style favors delicacy over power, sometimes to the extreme.” Matthiasson was recently nominated for a James Beard Award and was featured in the documentary SOMM: Into the Bottle, as well as being named 2014 Winemaker of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle.
Not yet reviewed, the previous vintage received 92 points from James Suckling: "Aromatic aromas of honeysuckle, nougat, grapefruit, fresh basil and tarragon. Medium-bodied with soft tannins. Dry. Mellow and succulent, with a hint of ground spice adding nice complexity. Skin-fermented. From organically grown grapes. Drink now."
