Antica Torino Amaro della Sacra 750 ml

Availability: In stock (4)

This approachable, middle-weight amaro is inspired by traditional monastic recipes. It works beautifully as a digestivo, sipped neat or on the rocks with a twist of lemon, or as a compelling cocktail component, amplifying warming spices and complementing berries or orchard fruits.
Amaro della Sacra is comprised of leaves, flowers, seeds, roots, resins, spices, and barks; some typical of the territory of Piedmont such as gentianella and hops, others more “exotic”, including the vanilla of Madagascar, the green cardamom of the Indies, the myrrh of the Middle East, and the chinchona bark of South America. The amaro is created by macerating the ingredients in grain alcohol and aging the mixture until all elements are well incorporated. This cinnamon-and-clove-forward amaro can be enjoyed after meals or mixed in cocktails.

Antica Torino is the brainchild and longtime passion project of Liguria-based wine & spirits huntsman, Vittorio Zoppi, and Umbrian winemaker Filippo Antonelli. Vito’s love for Italian spirits began as it does for many in Italy—as a child surrounded by the time-honored traditions and legacies of regional drinking culture. By sampling and studying a wide variety of vermouth and digestivi from around the world, Antica Torino has endeavored to create refined recipes inspired by the traditions of Torino and enlivened by the Piedmontese spirit. After formulating their flagship Vermouth Rosso, the team turned their attention to (re)creating an increasing collection of heritage spirits with a modern sensibility, elevating botanicals from Piedmont and beyond through fastidious experimentation and an abiding love for the drinking traditions of Italy.
