Kirchspiel is considered one of the country's great dry Riesling vineyards. It has a southeastern exposure and its bedrock and topsoil is composed of clay marls, limestone and loess. Katharina Wechsler has three different parcels in this large vineyard with reasonably good separation, giving the resulting wines a broader range of complexity and greater balance.
95 Points - "This GG site has a reputation for delicacy and finesse and this has those qualities in particularly noble form. The same applies to the fine tannins and allied touch of bitterness that are the foundations for the peachy charm offensive. The very long finish is at once filigree and highly structured. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold." - James Suckling
