Produced by Maestro Tequilero Alberto Partida, a 5th generation maestro tequilero (NOM 1477) in the tiny village of Amatitán, Jalisco, the Amatiena Tequila Anejo is made from 100% Blue Weber agave. This complex, smooth and sweet tequila is aged in ex-Napa Valley red wine casks of American oak for 12 months, giving it a velvety, buttery flavor with a strong smoky aftertaste.
Indulgent aromas of fresh glazed donuts, subtle tobacco leaf, and candied dates, with a palate that is at once generous and elusive, with bold confectionary flavors of vanilla, caramel, dried cherry, candied plum, sweet potato, black walnut, and subtle marzipan…but retaining a texture that is delicate and ethereal. Amatiteña Añejo seems to gracefully straddle the line between terroir and barrel influence, between serious tequila and nightcap treat.
