Ichiro Akuto, the owner and legendary king of Japanese distilling, comes from a family that has been brewing in Chichibu since the 1700s. The distillery actually started producing whisky as early as 1946, although production was halted and only resumed in 2004.
This blend is comprised of whiskies from distilleries in "the big 5" - Scotland, Canada, England, Ireland and the U.S., using a base of Ichiro Akuto’s young malt & grain whisky stock. A genuine "worldwide blended whisky."
Nose: apricot, popcorn toffee, vanilla cream, Meyer lemon zest
Palate: light texture notes of toffee roasted chestnut gingerbread, vanilla and black pepper
Finish: medium-long with honey and black pepper
