iichiko Shochu is the native spirit of Japan – a white spirit that’s incredibly rich in flavor, yet smooth and easy to drink with food. The feather-light Silhouette brand is Iichiko's flagship product, the ultimate gateway shochu.
Rare for shochu, Iichiko uses 100% (two-row) barley (most brands will contain at least some koji rice). Iichiko is a pioneer in making barley koji. They mill the barley as a sake brewer would, which results in a light and fruity profile. The aroma is light with notes of fragrant honeydew melon, soy, and exotic citrus. The flavors are rich in umami notes, with jasmine tea, white peaches, and earthy minerals.
